Trump’s Physician Declares Him ‘Fully Fit’ Despite Ongoing Health Speculations
The White House physician agrees with President Trump’s statement that he is in “excellent health.” Trump, 78, underwent a thorough medical examination in April, showing robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and physical function. He has lost about 25 pounds since his previous term and maintains an active lifestyle. Doctors found only minor issues, including sun damage and scarring on his right ear from a July 2024 assassination attempt.
However, Republican advisor Rick Wilson expressed serious concerns about Trump’s mental health, suggesting signs of cognitive decline severe enough to question whether he can serve another term. Wilson described Trump as incoherent and noted his mental abilities have visibly deteriorated since 2015.
Despite the medical clearance, Wilson and some experts believe test results don’t fully capture Trump’s daily cognitive challenges. Veteran journalist Timothy L. O’Brien also fears Trump may suffer from age-related cognitive decline, similar to his father, and doubts Trump will actually run for a third term.
Trump’s health disclosures have shifted since previous campaigns. Unlike brief updates in 2016 and 2020, the 2025 report was detailed but still raised questions. His team defended the decision to withhold full medical data, highlighting positive statements from his doctors.
Ultimately, while Trump passes medical tests, many remain concerned that his behavior reflects deeper mental health issues not fully reflected in official reports.
